K-pop Idols who could begin mandatory military service this year
Like every year, is a tradition that some korean idols are going to begin their mandatory military service. Of course the fans will miss them but, they must follow their duty. When male idols turn 18 years old, they can begin mandatory militar service or delay it but, when they turn 28, it’s obligatory because that’s the limit age to start.
For that reason, we are going to tell you the idols that could begin militar service this year. Recently, Korea’s parliament amended a law that would allow globally recognised K-pop artists to postpone their mandatory military service to age 30. This bill was specifically created to provide exceptions for K-pop superstars who contribute to South Korea’s economy and promote it’s culture. But there are still a few months to go into effect.
Nonetheless, we don’t know if K-pop stars will wait and take this law as an advantage or will they be proud and begin militar service. Recently, idols as Chanyeol from EXO and Sugnjin from Day6 began their service and started a new chapter in their lifes. So now, we are going to tell you the idols who could begin mandatory service this year:
Baekhyun from EXO: The vocalist was born in may 1992, so he is 28 years in international age. Recently, SM Entertainment said that the idol will enlist in may. Baekhyun is the sixth member of EXO to enlist in the military after Xiumin, DO, Suho, Chen, and Chanyeol. Baekhyun will start his duties on May 6.
Taemin from SHINee: The group had a successful comeback and while we wait for another one, Lee Taemin released a lot of projects. But sadly, the singer will turn 28 years on july 18th, so he could begin mandatory military service.
Jin from BTS: The idol is one of the artists that generates more uncertainty when it comes to his military service. Although it is in the limit age, he could delay his entry with the support of the new Korean law.
Suga from BTS: Yoongi turns 28 in march, so like Jin, he could begin his mandatory military service this year. However, he could delay his entry with the new Korean law, just like Jin. The time will say everything.
Another idols that coul begin their mandatory military service are Wonho, Mino form WINNER, Shownu from Monsta X, Kihyun from Monsta X, Minhyuk from Monsta X and HUI from PENTAGON. Will we see these idols go bald? Only the time will talk.
